This Shelby SuperSnake Widebody is one of only 2 Widebody Super Snake S197 models in Australia making at unique and potentially last time opportunity to buy if it enters a private collection.

Since 2007, Shelby American has been offering the Super Snake package, which upgraded stock GT500s into some of the most formidable factory racers on the road. With a lighter chassis to work with, Carrol Shelby and his team got down to business, creating the most powerful Mustang of the era. The GT500 Super Snake would not only be far more nimble but would also carry a performance presence, unlike anything that most consumers had seen.

The 2011 Shelby GT500 Super Snake not only performed at a superior level but looked insanely aggressive as well. The modified Mustang featured a revised fiberglass hood, complete with a hulking hood scoop and integrated hood pins, carbon-fibre rocker panels, and a carbon-fibre front splitter.

Additional exterior modifications included pillar mounted air scoops, as well as rear fender mounted brake ducting. “Super Snake” badging was also prominently located about the modified GT500’s exterior, including on the front grille, front fenders, and rear deck lid. Also located on the rear deck lid, was Shelby lettering, which was placed just beneath the vehicle’s low-rise rear spoiler.

This particular example was shipped from new in to Shelby Headquarters in Las Vegas in 2011 and built into a Super Snake as well as being converted to RHD.

After arriving in Australia in March 2013, the vehicle was sent to the authorized Shelby agents and mustang experts, Mustang Motorsport, in Victoria where it was further enhanced by building it into a Widebody model in 2015.

Among the host of options available he selected the most powerful version, Kenne Bell Supercharger with special Shelby tune to produce over 800 horsepower and to ensure reliability it was optioned with the Shelby ultimate cooling package and one-piece tail shaft rated to cope with 1000 BHP.

Extensive new panels, badging and deep-dish Shelby wheels and a near full respray turned this vehicle into one of the most stunning and aggressive looking special cars not only to wear the Shelby badging but to also grace the road.

Finished in Torch Red with Satin Black racing stripes, highly polished deep dished Shelby Super Snake rims and the addition of a beautiful set of hood pins compliment the aggressive shape of this generation Mustang.

With the introduction of the Mustang into Australia (as with the Corvette) demand for older generation cars has skyrocketed with enthusiasts looking to build collections and expand their muscle car experience. In particular, this generation of Super Snake vehicles, particularly the widebody versions, demand is particularly strong and commanding premium prices above those of current Super Snake models.

This unique Mustang comes with full documentation, Shelby Authentication Certificate, 2 original keys and all logbooks. In addition, the signature of Carol Shelby sits just above the glove box as the final piece of a masterful creation.
