Peter Brock is an Australian racing legend with an astonishing nine victories in the Bathurst 1000, a feat that has not been equalled since. His status in the Australian racing community was well cemented with his racing pedigree before his tragic death in 2006.

He was most notably known for his multi-decade relationship with Holden and in December 1979, Peter Brock bought the Holden Dealer Team and began plans to produce an Australian Tour Car Championship winner, using the new Holden Commodore. The VC HDT Brock was created specifically for homologation of key performance upgrades for use in the team’s ambitions for Group C racing that included structural strengthening, engine, suspension, brakes and bodywork. Just 500 examples were produced to the Australian public.

The 5.0 Litre V8 engine featured key performance upgrades including L34-type heads, bigger valves, a hot cam, cold air intake, bigger valves, a matched inlet manifold and a dual exhaust.

Suspension improvements included new springs and Bilstein shock absorbers, a limited slip differential, plus a larger master cylinder for the new high performance four-wheel disc brakes. To accommodate the wider flared wheel arches German Irmscher alloy wheels were used giving the car a wider track for cornering, balance and grip. Complementing the wider wheel arches a front and rear spoiler were added with the goal of additional airflow management around the car.

Internally the HDT Brock included a MOMO steering wheel displaying the car’s build number with options including manual or automatic transmission,air conditioning and a rear blind. Three colours were available reflecting the HDT colours of red, white and black - Firethorn Red, Tuxedo Black or Palais White.

**This specific example is presented for sale as build number 433 in Firethorn Red, with the popular automatic transmission, rear blind and has covered a genuine 135,515 kms. The car is in excellent condition and appropriately reflects the era from which it was born.
